How many lies have you told yourself today or even last
night when having your glass of champagne celebrating the New Year and saying “this
is the year that I will finally lose weight”
Let us be honest with ourselves, it isn’t going to happen is
it?
I’ve lost the amount of times I’ve heard “I am going to
start my diet tomorrow [Jan 1st]
The thing is, you are going to fail that “diet” today, if
you haven’t already, you will do
Which then cascades into yet another spiral of events
Feeling guilty
Not quite sure why you couldn’t control that craving
Which leads to more self sabotage
And the whole… fu?k it, I’ll start again on Monday and plus I have the whole year to lose weight
anyway
Did you tell yourself this lie this time last year?
You see
This is actually the first lie we tell ourselves
The second is “I’ll just get back to the norm, reality, work
and everything” then I’ll start my diet
The reality is if you failed to have a strategy when it wasn’t
the norm – you know the time when you have more time
Because that’s all what we’re saying really right when we
say “when I get back to the norm…”
Well, if you couldn’t do it when you had time you‘re not
going to be successful on that diet when you have no time!
2013 should be the proof in the pudding here
Whats changed since then?
Have you actually sat down and reflected on what was holding
you back
The obstacles and barriers
The self limitations
The environments when you were most likely to cheat your
diet
What caused you to cheat your diet, emotional eating,
stressful events, peer pressure…
If you don’t know the answers how are you ever going to make
changes
This is what we do every two weeks in our member progress
meetings
We reflect, gather feedback, make adjustments, and ensure there
is an understanding…. And move forward positively
I didn’t mean to put a damper on your New Year but I would
be doing you a disservice as a coach if I wasn’t totally honest with you
If you want any kind of help then I would suggest ditching
the diet you are on there is no such thing
