Nice Innovative Gym

Well, I thought it was

And it kinda is in its own way

A master piece really coming to think of it

Im just talking about the interior design by the way

Pretty extraordinary it is

The gyms called David Barton Gym, it's the one I visited whilst I was in New York.

What was disappointing but shouldn't have been a surprise really

Was the level of service I received?

I just really wish that the service in the fitness industry was just better

Anyway, I asked to have a look around and I was given the whole sales spiel

You know how it goes

We have the newest and latest gym equipment

We have 6000 treadmills

Indoor heated pool etc.

However, I was never once asked what I'd like to achieve from being a member at the gym

The person showing me around was actually a sales rep/pt leader

Its like when you order online shopping and the shop gives you an alternative because they've ran out of the thing that 

you wanted but to your surprise the alternative is no where near what you originally wanted

Does this kinda make sense.

I was being shown things that didn't interest me

And I knew they wouldn't benefit me because I was never asked what my goal was

So instead of showing me the treadmills and thinking that 21 different sport channels would excite me

Instead it should have been "here are our treadmills, they have xy program that will enable you to burn body fat specially 

for your goals and little added bonus they come with 21 different sport channels."

And for a swimming pool... well, I am the most conscious person when it comes to being half naked around other people why on earth would I want to swim

Plus its not related to my goal

Talk about off putting

So the take home message today is...

When thinking about joining a gym make sure that it is about YOU not them.

That's why  we ask people to apply to become member at our gym

It enables us to identify your needs very early on

Its what sets us apart from any other gym
